The Dalmore 15 Year Old is a smooth, rich whisky, defining the Dalmore house style. The spirit is matured initially for 12 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks, before then dividing the whisky to finish for a further three years in three different sherry butts: Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso. The three parts are then married together once again in a sherry butt, allowing the flavours to integrate. On the nose, The Dalmore 15 has a sweet, citrus fruit aroma, orange marmalade with delicately spiced notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. The Dalmore's characteristic fruity orange flavours persist on the palate, with vanilla and ginger adding a touch of spice. A long finish, with dry, peppery spice notes.
